Seven grammar schools across the Cheltenham, Gloucester and Stroud areas — including Stroud High School — form the Gloucestershire Grammar School Consortium and share one entrance test, provided by GL Assessment, covering English, verbal reasoning, maths and non-verbal/spatial reasoning, so a child only sits the test once regardless of how many consortium schools they apply to. Each school, however, remains its own admission authority and runs its own Year 7 admissions separately.
